SAR imaging using Class-1 UAVs is hard

AiRadar’s MMI-100 multi-mode radar in flight on an Aurelia X8 drone.  
Not only does it require a lightweight and power efficient radar, the position of the sensor must be known at all times to within a fraction of a millimetre. aiRadar has solved this by fusing the information from an array of onboard positioning sensors with the radar data itself to successfully produce ultra-high resolution SAR imagery from a small drone platform.
